Healing Hearts with Art: Free Workshops for the Bedford Community
“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” – Thomas Merton.
Every Saturday, PBIC and Art School Tsymbal host free creative workshops. These workshops offer a space for artistic expression, relaxation, and an opportunity to connect with others. The sessions are running until December, and each one provides an opportunity to explore a new art form and walk away with a piece of art to take home.
Exploring Different Forms of Art
So far, our workshops have covered a variety of art forms, ensuring there’s something for everyone:
- Decorative Ikebanas – The Japanese art of flower arranging taught participants how to create beautiful, peaceful arrangements using flowers and other natural elements.
- Pottery – Working with clay is a grounding experience as participants shape their own unique pottery pieces.
- Painting – Through various painting techniques including watercolour and acrylic paints, participants have been invited to express themselves, creating personal masterpieces.
- T-shirt Painting – A fun, wearable form of art that allowed people to design and personalize their own clothing.
- Painting with Wax – A more unconventional medium, but one that opened up endless possibilities for creativity through texture and color.
