PBIC Monthly Update: February Recap

PBIC Monthly Update: February Recap

We’re excited to share everything PBIC has been up to over the past month!

Supporting Our Community: PBIC Advice and Guidance Services

Our advice team provided support to 308 individuals in February, handling a total of 472 cases. We remain committed to helping our community navigate challenges and access vital resources. The top areas of support required this month included:

Benefits Advice – Assisting individuals with applications, eligibility, and access to financial support.
Homelessness Support – Helping those in unstable housing situations secure accommodations and find safety, as well as ongoing support for those in temporary and supported accommodation. .
Careers Guidance – Providing job seekers with advice on employment opportunities and career development.

PBIC Annual General Meeting

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Annual General Meeting on February 22nd. At PBIC, our mission is to help migrants settle, achieve, and contribute—but as we discussed on the day, the process of “settling” is complex. It requires collaboration between funders, partners, employees, volunteers, and policymakers to make real change.

Masterclasses with Art School Tsymbal – NEON Painting!

Our Saturday art masterclasses continued to be a hit this month, with Neon painting sessions proving particularly popular! We love seeing the community engage with creativity, and we look forward to more inspiring workshops in March.

Preparing for Cultural Celebrations

We’re already gearing up for some exciting cultural events taking place this year! Preparations are underway for Polish Heritage Day on May 4th and Ukrainian Independence Day on August 24th. These events are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our diverse community, and we can’t wait to bring people together to honor these important occasions. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months!

Ongoing Crisis Support

Our team continues to provide support to those in crisis. Whether you or someone you know is facing homelessness, unsafe living situations, or financial hardship, please reach out. We’re here to help.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported, or engaged with our activities this month. Your involvement makes everything we do possible. And of course, a special thanks to our funders, whose generosity ensures that these services remain free and accessible to those who need them most.

Stay tuned for more updates next month!
